• Before using the appliance for the first time, clean the baking
plate with a damp cloth. Next, dry carefully.
• We recommend a “trial run” at a high temperature to eliminate
any protective substance or oil that may have been used for
packing and shipping. A small amount of smoke and odour
may be detected. This is normal.
Use
• Place the appliance on a flat and heat resistant surface.
• Place the teppanyaki on a heat resistant surface as the surface
may get hot when in use for an extensive period. Placing the
teppanyaki on a plastic tablecloth or other sensitive surface is
not recommended.
• Insert the connector (1) into the base (4), bearing in mind that
the temperature selector (2) is in the top position.
• Plug into the mains. The indicator light (3) will go on. When the
indicator light goes o the baking plate will have reached the
selected temperature.
•
Turn the temperature selector (2) to the desired position, according
to the type of food you are going to prepare using as a reference
the selected temperature of the indicator light position (3). Firstly,
it is advisable to put the selector to its highest position (MAX), to let
the baking plate reach, as soon as possible, a good temperature.
Afterwards you can, if you consider it convenient, change the
selector position.
•
Before each use pour some oil on the baking plate. We
recommend using oil, suitable for baking and frying (i.e. oils with
a high smoke point). Check the label of your oil to make sure it’s
suitable for cooking. Do not use any type of oil sprays, including
aerosols, mist, and pump sprays.
• Place the food on the baking plate (5).
•
Do not use any metal utensils but wooden or plastic spatulas and
other utensils to move or turn the food over. The use of forks or
other metal utensils may scratch the surface.
•
CAUTION: Handles may become hot when using the teppanyaki.
Use oven gloves or allow the teppanyaki to cool before handling.
3 MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
•
Before you proceed to cleaning, unplug the appliance from the
mains and remove the detachable power cord.
• Do not wait for the baking plate grill to cool completely. The
cleaning of the surface will be easier when it is still warm so if
needed please use protection such as oven gloves to handle
the appliance. It is enough to use a slightly dampened cloth to
wipe food residues. When the baking plate is cooled down, you
can clean the baking plate with water and a mild detergent. Dry
thoroughly after cleaning.
• Do not use abrasive or chemical products, metallic scourers,
as such may damage the product.
• The connector must always be cleaned with a dry cloth and
must never be immersed in water.
4 STORAGE
• Do not store the teppanyaki with metal utensils or sharp items,
as this may lead to scratches or damage to the surface.
• Always ensure your teppanyaki is clean and dry before storing
it. Store your teppanyaki carefully.
