MakesureyouhavethelatestversionofthePantelligentappinstalledonyoursmartphoneto

connecttoPantelligentpans.



OniOS:



Goto“AppStore”,click“Search”,type“Pantelligent”,tap“GET”,tap

“INSTALL”,andwaitfortheapptodownloadandinstall.



Launchtheappfromthehomescreenandtryconnectingtothepan.



OnAndroid:



Goto“PlayStore”,click“Search”,type“Pantelligent”,tap“Install”.Grant

Pantelligentthepermissionsitneeds.Waitfortheapptodownloadand

install.



Tap“Open”fromthePlayStoreorlaunchPantelligentfromyourlauncher.



PantelligentrequiresasmartphonethatsupportsBluetoothLowEnergy,alsoknownas

BluetoothSmart,orBluetooth4.0.EarliermodelsmartphonesmaynothaveaBluetoothradio

thatisnewenoughtosupportthiscapability. 



Ifyourdeviceisnotlistedbelow,itmaynothavesupportforBluetoothLowEnergy.Please

checkwiththemanufacturer,anduseamodelthatiscompatibleinordertousePantelligent.



5.Dothebatterieshavesufficientcharge?



handle. 

Toaccessthebatteries,usea

Phillipsscrewdrivertoremovethe

twoscrewsholdinginthebattery

cap,andthenremovethebattery

cap.



Pantelligentwilloperateproperly

withaminimumbatteryvoltageof

1.1Vpercell.(Afreshbattery

shouldhaveapproximately1.5V

1.6Vpercell.)Useamultimeteror

batterytestertoconfirmeach

battery’svoltage.Thebatteryterminalsshouldbecleanandfreeofcorrosion.



Ifindoubt,werecommendthatyousimplyreplacewithnewAAAbatteries.We

recommendEnergizerUltimateLithiumL92AAAbatteries.



Toreassemble,makesurethewaterproofgasketsitsinthegroovewithinthebatterycap,and

theninsertandhandtightenbothscrewsuntilthecapisflushwiththeendofthehandle.



Ifthebatteryterminals,springs,orbatterycaphavevisiblecorrosion,youmayuse>=91%

isopropylalcoholwithacottonswabtocleanandremovethecorrosion.Allowtodrycompletely

beforereattachingthebatterycap.



Rechargeablebatteries,suchasNiMHbatteries,mayalsobeusedwithPantelligent.However,

ifyouareexperiencingtroubleconnecting,werecommendtryingfreshAAAbatteriestoruleout

thebatteriesasasourceofissues.



 

6.Arethebatteriesinstalledinthecorrectdirection?



Ifthebatteriesarenotinstalledinthecorrectorientation,Pantelligentwillnotfunction.



Amarkingwithinthebatterycompartmentindicateswhichdirectiontoloadthebatteries. 

● Thetopbatterywillbeplus(+)endinfirst,withtheminus()sidestickingouttowardsthe

endofthehandle. 

● Thebottombatterywillbetheopposite,withtheminus()endinfirst,andtheplus(+)

sidestickingouttowardstheendofthehandle.



ThePantelligentelectronicshavebeendesignedsuchthatreversepolaritywillnotcauseany

damagetothePantelligentelectronics.(Thesystemwillsimplyremainoff.)Ifyou’renotsureif

thebatteriesareinthecorrectdirection,youcantryputtingthemintheotherway.



 

7.ArethePantelligentelectronicsreceivingpower?



Toaidintroubleshooting,thePantelligentelectronics

includeatinyLEDthatblinksonlywhenthe

electronicsarereceivingpower,thefirmwareandCPU

hasstartedupproperly,anditistransmittingwithits

BluetoothLowEnergyradio.ThisLEDisonlyvisible

withinthehandle.



Tocheckthisindicator,removethebatterycap,but

leavethebatteriesinplace.Then,pressthebattery

capagainsttheexposedbatteryendstocompletethe

circuit,whileleavingtheleftsideofthecavityexposed

andvisible,asshowninthephoto.Pressthebattery

capfirmlyagainsttheendofthehandletoensurethat

thebatteriesaremakingfullcontactwiththeterminals.



Iftheelectronicsarereceivingpowerandareworking

properly,asmallredlightwillbrieflylightup

approximatelyonceevery3seconds,asshowninthe

photo.Thelightturnsononlyverybriefly(toconserve

batterypower),andisonlyvisibleifyouarelooking

downtheleftedgeofthebatterycavity.



IfthelightdoesNOTblink:

● Theelectronicsarenotreceivingpower,orarenotworkingproperly.

● Checkthebatterypolarity,makesurethebatteryterminalsareclean,makesurethe

batterycapiscleanwhereitcontactsthebatteries,makesureyouarepressingfirmlyon

thebatterycaptocompletethecircuit,andtrynewbatteries.

● Ifthatdoesn’thelp,pleaseseethe“Hasmoisturepreventedtheelectronicsfromworking

properly?”sectionofthistroubleshootingguide.



Ifthelightdoesblink:

● Theelectronicsandbatteriesarepoweredandworkingproperly.

● Theconnectionissueisinyoursmartphoneorsoftware.CheckthatBluetoothis

enabled,youhaveacompatibledeviceandoperatingsystemversion,andyouhavethe

latestversionofthePantelligentsoftwareinstalled. 

8.Hasmoisturepreventedtheelectronicsfromworkingproperly?



Likealmostanyelectroniccircuit,Pantelligentwillnotoperateproperlyiftheelectronicsgetwet!

Thehandleisdesignedwithwaterproofsealstokeeptheelectronicsandbatterycompartment

dry,evenwhenPantelligentisusedfornormalcookingandcleaning.However,ifmoisture

managestocomeincontactwiththesensitiveelectronicsinsidethehandle,itwilltemporarily

preventtheproperoperationofthePantelligentelectronics.Wehavetakenspecialcareto

designPantelligentsuchthatalthoughmoisturemaycausetemporarylossoffunctionality,no

permanentdamageshouldresultifthefollowingprocedureisfollowedtoremovemoisture.



Ifthebatteriesarefine,butthelightstilldoesn’tblinkinthe“ArethePantelligentelectronics

receivingpower?”test,youmaywishtotrytheprocedurebelowtoremovemoisture.Inmost

cases,thiswillreturnyourpantonormalworkingoperation.



MoistureBakeOutProcedure:



A. Removethebatterycap.

B. Removethebatteries.

C. Preheatyourovento250°F.

Highertemperaturesdonotcauseanyfaster

moistureevaporation,andcancausepermanentdamage.

E. Useanovenmitttoremovethepanandplaceitonthestovetoptocoolforatleast15

minutes.

a. Note:donotreapplypowerorreinsertbatteriesuntilthehandlehascooledto

thetouch!Theelectronicscantoleratehightemperaturesonlywhenoff.

F. Putthebatteriesinthecorrectorientation,andrepeatthe“ArethePantelligent

electronicsreceivingpower?”test,lookingfortheredlight.Iftheredlightblinks,

reassemblewiththebatterycapandscrews.Yourpanisworkingproperlyagain!


