Installingthe Accessories

If you are installingaccessoriesat the sametime as you are installingthis product, installthe host machine first and

then the accessoriesin the followingsequence:

1. Side paper deck (See its InstallationProcedure.)

2. Installationof the buffer pass unit [I]

3. Finisher-AE1 [2], SaddleFinisher-AE2 [3]

Turning Off the Main Power of the Host Machine

When turning off the main power, be sure to go throughthe followingin strict sequence to protect the machine's

hard disk:

Hold on the power switchon the controlpanel 3 sec or more.

[2]Operateon the touchpanel accordingto the shut-downsequenceindicatedsothat the main power switchmay

be turned off.

[3]Turn off the main power switch.

[4]

Disconnect the power cable (for the power outlet).

Selectingthe Site of Installation

Selectthe siteof installation,making suretherewill be enough space for work (e.g.,removal of paper). Be sure also

that there will be no gap between the finisher and the host machine.

Be sure to install the host machine and the finisher on a level surfacewithout any step or gap. Otherwise,faults

associated with paper movement can occur.

Installingthe Buffer

When the cover [3] is not attached, remove the fol-

lowing parts:

Host machine's front cover (one blanking rubber

and two screws)

Host machine's deliverytray (two screws)

Host machine's rear cover (four screws)

Next, remove the paper full sensor flag [4] for de-

liverytray

and then attach the cover in place.

When installingthe buffer pass unit, take care not

to break

Unpacking and Checking

the Components

1.4.1

Unpacking (Finisher)

MEMO:

The machine is packed using tape and cushioning

materials to be protected against vibration and

shock during transit. Be sure to remove them be-

fore starting to install the machine. (It is a good

idea to store away the removed tape and cushion-

ingmaterialforpossiblerelocationofthemachine,

e.g.,to a new site or for repairs.)

Take out the accessorybox from the shippingbox.

2) Lift the finisher together with its cushioning base

(Styrofoam).Be sureto work in a group oftwo per-

sons.

If you shiftup the finisher on its side,you would

likelydeform or damage the machine.Moreover,

in the case of the SaddleFinisher-AE2,the force

applied to the front cover [l] can deform the

hinge.

The finisher is rather heavy. (Weight: Finisher-

AE1: 43.2 kg, SaddleFinisher-AE2:73.2 kg) Be

sure to work in a group of two persons. Particu-

larly when moving it over a step on the floor, be

sure to take full care not to let it tumble over.

At this point, do not remove the four cushioning

materials (Styrofoam)fromthe finisher.Otherwise,

you would likely deform some areas of the ma-

chine.

3) Remove the cushioningmaterial (Styrofoam)from

the upper cover.

Slightly lift the front and rear casters, and remove

the cushioning material (Styrofoam). Be sure to

shiftup the finisherby holding the upper left cover

(gray area).

Takethe finisherout ofthebag andremovethetape

Remove the two fixing screws [I],and remove the

used outsidethe finisher. 2 tray fixings [2].

For the Saddle Finisher-AE2, do not peel off the

blind seal [I]from the saddletray.
